Sky knock-off £26 per month to lure new customers with this latest Sky TV and Fibre Broadband and anytime call plan deal – for just £45 per month (was £71pm). Last updated for October 2019.
As a pre-season treat well before the run up to Christmas, Sky are throwing-in Netflix and Box Sets for £3 per month extra. These services are normally packaged together and called the Ultimate On Demand pack and costs £12 per month extra as an add-on to Sky Entertainment. Sky don’t stop there. They are also offering free anytime calls when you take Sky’s discounted ‘Broadband Superfast’. This saves customers £306 over 18 months by reducing the cost of the call plan from £10 per month to a generous zero, and a £7 per month reduction of Superfast broadband.
As mentioned you also get Sky’s entry level package TV pack ‘Sky Entertainment’ which boasts some of the nations favorite channels such as Sky One, Discovery, History, Gold, Comedy Central Discovery and the exclusive Sky Atlantic channel. These channels are amoungst the 75 premium, 60 catch-up and hundreds of satellite channels included. (Interested in more TV packs? »). This deal also bolts on Sky’s fastest Fibre Broadband service averaging 59mb speeds (if available in your area). If you live out-side of Sky’s fibre network, then you can get this deal with the slower 11mb broadband for £38 a month minus the free anytime call plan. Check availability »
How does the monthly cost breakdown?
This Sky deal discounts both the TV and broadband elements of the package. You can also add ‘Sky Broadband Boost’ which costs an extra £5 per month for 18 months (extra benefits i.e. parental controls, limit screen time). The combined total saving is £26 per month on standard pricing, or a total of £468 over the 18 month contract which applies. Standard price for this package is normally £71 per month. With the next best offer price in recent weeks of £54pm. With this flash sale Sky are offering the package at £45 per month. Get this deal »
How about setup costs?
The Sky TV and broadband setup cost works out at £20 for the 1TB Sky box, plus £9.95 for broadband setup. So the minimum setup cost for this deal is £29.95. If you need a new landline – or an old one reactivating (which normally applies if you are switching from Virgin Media) – then there’s a fee of £20 for an Open Reach engineer visit and installation. The cost does start to mount if you want to land yourself the 2TB box (for Ultra HD viewing on your 4K TV) at £30. This is the reduced cost when you add the ‘Sky Q Experience’ (also for Multiroom). At the time of writing you get your first extra Q box free, but your 2nd, 3rd and 4th ‘additional’ boxes if required are £99 each. Confused? I don’t blame you! I found it makes more sense if you customise the Sky basket area yourself and play around with the different packs.
Is Sky Broadband any good?
Like most providers in the UK, Sky run their fibre broadband service via the Open Reach fixed land line network. Fibre runs up to your nearest telephone exchange and is then fed down your phone line (hence the need for a landline). It is worth noting that the line rental cost is included in the £45 per month deal price.
So how does the Sky broadband service weigh-up compared to other providers? An indication can be found in Ofcoms complaints review. Sky fairs best in the complaints department*.
